AMP MODE OVERVIEW

The AMP MODE circuit is based on a MOSFET transistor which is a very popular type of transistor to use for boost circuits because it has many “amp like” characteristics when it clips etc. There can be downsides to this circuit though.

Several very popular MOSFET boost circuits on the market have a very noticeable crackle when their boost knobs are rotated. We fixed this issue in the AMP MODE so it is perfectly silent when the boost knob is rotated and delivers nothing but a crushingly loud and harmonically rich boost!

Use the AMP MODE as a preamp for your overall signal, a boost to push an overdrive pedal even further into saturation, or as a post overdrive boost to clarify and push your guitar forward in the mix! The AMP MODE features 9-18V operation, true bypass switching and a tiny footprint featuring top mounted jacks!

TONE TIP!

"One of the most powerful things about the AMP MODE is how well it stacks with other pedals as well as it self! For years I have run two MOSFET boosts on my pedalboard with a Klon in between them. I used one of the boosts as an always on boost, and added a second boost when I wanted an overdriven rhythm tone. Finally when I wanted a saturated lead tone I would kick on the Klon and the two boosts along with the Klon would give me a super articulate and saturated lead tone." - Brad Jackson 






BOOST CONTROL

The single boost control sets the overall boost for the AMP MODE. The AMP MODE is a true boost in that when the boost control is fully counter-clockwise, it doesn't boost your signal, it instead acts as a unity gain buffer that emboldens your guitars signal to prevent against tonal loss when drive long cables etc.

DC INPUT

The AMP MODE can safely run from 9V-18V DC (center negative). Running it at 18V will give increased headroom and dynamic response. Do NOT exceed 18V!

    The BYPASS SWITCH is a mechanical true bypass switch.

      A Great Filter (Installed on a 2014 Acura RDX)
      I installed this on a 2015 Acura RDX and it has been a fine replacement for the original air filter. The filter offers a good value and resembles the filter that it replaced and seems to be an equivalent replacement in every way. It fit into the housing perfectly and was just as easy to replace as the original filter was. The white color of the filter also makes it easy to see if an excess of dirt has built up on the filter. I'd recommend this filter. The materials are good, it offers equivalent functionality, and great value for the money.

      Excellent quality and price
      The picture above is of two different brand engine air filters. One is a Fram Extra Guard and the other is the KAX filter, which costs half as much. Can you tell which one is the cheaper KAX filter? There may be a difference in material that is not visible, but they feel and look the same. It seems like a safe bet to try out the KAX and see how well it performs/lasts.

      Just Right
      Fits just right. The paper filter material seems to be the same quality as the brand name filter I took out with the only percievable difference is price and packaging. One nice thing here is that once taken out of the box, the filter is wrapped in light weight plastic so you don't get the new filter dirty when taking out the old one. Just unwrap it prior to installation for a clean install. Hope this helps.

      Same Quality, Cheaper Price!
      Fits exactly as it should (2018 Acura RDX) and performs as well as any other brand I've used over the years. Construction and material quality appear as good as (or better) than any other off-the-shelf brand.
